A customer recently asked me what Bay County offers for families with “furry children”. Having a Labrador of my own at home, I was excited to share the pet friendly dining and play areas that Panama City and Panama City Beach offers. There is a wonderful dog beach located on the shore of the gulf in front of Pier Park shopping mall. You can also enjoy and afternoon of shopping in Pier Park since many of the stores welcome leashed dogs inside. If play is on your mind, Frank Brown Recreational Park has a large fenced dog park that is filled with toys and includes a dog drinking fountain. It sits right next to a lake with a paved walking track as well! After a few rounds of fetch, you can bring your pet to the back deck of Salty Sue’s restaurant for a great southern meal. Pets are allowed on the patio and they have a small fenced dog play area. It’s a well kept secret between dog owners that they also have two pet dishes on their menu! If you are looking for fresh catch fish tacos, bring Fido to Finn’s on Thomas Drive or in St. Andrew’s. Both locations have a comfortable patio where you and your pet can enjoy the local atmosphere. So whether you want to eat, play or just shop a little, you and your furry friends will love Bay County Florida.
