Boys and Girls Club Christmas Trees

Written By: Miller and Associates Realty On: 10th December 2012 Under: Events, Local Information, Volunteering

It has become an annual tradition here at Miller and Associates to volunteer at the Christmas Tree sale benefiting the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Bay County.  Broker and Owner Joanie Miller, her son Chad Miller, and our agents and office assistants, worked all morning and afternoon – even the kids chipped in!  The event started 23 years ago and is one of the primary sources of funding for the organization, funds needed now more than ever considering the effect this tough economy is having on all charitable organizations and people’s ability to support them.  During the afternoon the Miller Team was there, nearly $4,000 worth of trees were sold and the event usually raises between twenty and thirty thousand dollars per season.  All of the trees http://humanrightsfilmnetwork.org/xanax come from a farm in North Carolina, Merlyn Farms, and are of the Fraiser Fir variety – significant because this particular breed of tree is very hardy and does well in the heat and sun of December in Florida.  If you’re interested in a live tree, they sell for between $20 and $300 with the majority of seven to eight foot trees running around fifty dollars.  The lots opened on November 23rd, with one located at 23rd and 390 and the other at Hwy 79 and Hwy 98 – one hundred percent of sales go directly to the organization.  Grab yourself an authentic piece of Christmas Spirit and rest assured that you’re helping a great cause at the same time!
