Quick Tips to Prepare for a Showing

Written By: Miller and Associates Realty On: 5th June 2015 Under: Uncategorized

One of the least favorite things about selling a house is the last-minute showing: keeping your property ready to show 24/7 can be a stressful.  Here are a few maintenance tips to help you keep your home cleaner for longer, reducing that last-minute rush to get it ready to show.

Organize your cleaning supplies. Gather your supplies and keep in a basket or bucket, ready to pull out at a moment’s notice. This will save the time and effort wasted by searching for your cleaning supplies.

Use rain repellant to keep soap scum off glass surfaces. After cleaning the bathroom, spray the glass shower doors and walls with a rain-repellant made to use on car windshields. Water, oils and soap suds will bead and roll off.

Use protective furniture sprays and sealants. After cleaning your upholstery and/or carpet, apply a protective spray to guard against unavoidable spills.

Use disposable cleaning wipes and products. While you may not want to use these products for deep cleaning, they work very well for a quick spruce-up before a showing. These pre-moistened wipes are available with disinfectant for kitchens and baths, or with multi-surface solutions that are safe to use on glass, wood, granite and electronics.

These easy tips can make a last-minute showing less stressful for you, and make your home more appealing to potential buyers.
