August Gardening Tasks

Maintenance of lawn and landscaping is a year-round chore, and August is no exception.  Here is a short list of tasks you can do in August:

Check your palms: if your older fronds are turning yellow and dying they may have a magnesium or potassium deficiency.  Apply an appropriate palm fertilizer.

Fertilize ornamental plants: the heavy rains of summer combined with rapid growth can cause a deficiency of nutrients.
